John McNamara   -    (Managing Director - Owner)

(Equipment, Mortgage, Commercial & Rural Finance)

John has 28 years experience in the Banking/Finance industry. John commenced his finance career in 1981 with CBFC/CBA, during that time he enjoyed several postings which include; Manager Broker Finance, Manager CBFC Fleet Lease & Manager CBFC Floor Plan Section.

In 1994 he accepted the position as Sunshine Coast Area Manager, then eventually accepting the position of Relationship Executive to manage larger portfolio clients. In 2001 John resigned to take the opportunity to join forces with David Stone (Stone Goddard & Associates) forming Stone McNamara Finance, which was eventually changed to SMS Finance.

In July 2008 John took over the reigns of 100% ownership in the company allowing David to slow down a bit into a semi-retired/consultancy role. John has expertise in all areas of Mortgage & Equipment Finance. John is a well respected member of the community. John is fully accredited with MFAA,  FBAA, COSL, AFG and Credit Registered.

David has 43 years experience in the finance industry, commencing in 1966 with Lombard Australia (Natwest Bank) during this time David gained experience in most divisions of the finance industry. The last position held was branch manager for 8 years before branching out on his own forming Stone Goddard & Associates in January 1982.

In 2001 David joined forces with John McNamara to form Stone McNamara Finance eventually changing to SMS Finance. In July 2008 David handed over the reins of the business solely to John, electing to slow down a little and taking on a consultancy role. David has expertise all areas of Equipment Finance spending a lot of his time in Central & Western Queensland. David is a well respected member of the community.

Garry commenced with SMS Finance April 2008. Garry previously worked for the Commonwealth Bank and held various lending positions for over 30 years. He has extensive experience in Business and Rural Lending having held positions in Country Queensland and The Business Banking Department of the CBA. Garry handles all forms of finance with us, specialising in Commercial and Rural Finance.

Judy commenced with SMS Finance August 2007 as Marketing Manager. Judy comes to us with over 20 years experience in all facets of owning and running various small to medium businesses. Growing up in her families businesses her father instilled in her old fashioned Honesty & Integrity. Judy looks after all our marketing requirements and office management duties. Judy has a keen interest in business and customer care, she  has an eye for detail and prides herself on having the business running happily and smoothly as possible.

Todd commenced with SMS Finance in 2010 and  has taken on the role of Sales & Marketing Manager,  he brings an in dept knowledge of business and the Sunshine Coast Community. Todd has been involved in various businesses on the Sunshine Coast for the past 20 years, he has also had a large involvement in rugby league and surf life saving and  is a well respected member of the community.

John commenced with SMS Finance in 2009 bringing with him 36 years of banking experience, which commenced in Brisbane in the Commonwealth Bank. Back then computers did not exist, you had Home Loans, Personal Loans, Overdraft and Business Loans all at variable rates and if things were going good you could apply in the morning and walk out that afternoon with the cash. How things have changed! From Brisbane John's career took him to most coastal Cities in Queensland.

John has been involved in lending for 25 years until his last posting as Corporate Relationship Manager for CBA on the Sunshine Coast. He has always found it rewarding to come up with solutions for his clients and to see them come to fruition. Here at SMS Finance John has he has access to a large number of products and services where there is a lot more choices and structuring deals is a much easier task.

John has a wide knowledge of Retail, Business & Equipment Lending along with providing solutions that include Receivables Finance, Interest Rate Risk Management, Foreign Exchange and Development Finance.

Cassie commenced with SMS Finance in 2009. Cassie has been in the Finance industry since 2000 and specialises in Vehicle & Equipment Finance. Over the years she has developed a good understanding of the lending process and has cultivated strong relationships with financiers and customers.  She prides herself on "good old fashioned" and efficient service making the finance process for customers as smooth and straight forward as possible whilst keeping them informed through every step of the process and beyond.

Cassie is completing her Cert IV in Financial Services and is a Commissioner for Declarations.

Jenny commenced with SMS Finance in June 2010.  She is an experienced lender and comes to us very well equipped to assist with all of your Equipment Finance needs. Jenny completed a Bachelor of Business in Rockhampton prior to working for the commonwealth Bank for 25 years with most of that time in small to medium business lending on the Sunshine Coast.

Jenny is also a Commissioner of Declarations.

Vikki commenced with SMS Finance March 2010.  Vikki comes to us with 18 years banking experience, covering customer service, supervisor, insurance, Mortgage & Personal Lending, Equipment Finance (business support officer & Senior business support officer) - documents & settlements and lending support.

Vikki has specialised in Equipment Finance for the past 5 years, she prides herself on attention to detail and customer service.

Vikki has a Cert IV in business administration.

Peter commenced with SMS Finance in March 2010. Peter has been involved in the finance industry for over 35 years.  He had 28 years with the Commnwealth Bank and held lending positions at various branches throughout Queensland.  Following his resignation form the Bank as the Senior Loans Officer at it's Nambour office he was involved in small business for a number or years and then returned to the finance industry.

Peter has spend the last 12 years in the Mortgage broking field and has extensive experience in all facets of Mortgage lending.

Wendy joined SMS Finance in February 2010 with a wealth of experience in Mortgage Finance.  She has 9 years experience in the Mortgagebroking residential lending sphere. Wendy has a friendly outgoing personality, loves dealing with people, and excels at dealing with the various banks and lenders on your behalf.

Rebekah specialises in Mortgage Finance, she commenced with SMS Finance in March 2010.

Rebekah has been in the finance industry for the past 7 years in managing accounts, bookkeeping and is now solely specialising in Mortgage Finance. Rebekah has a real passion for this industry and is committed to keeping pace with changes in the industry.

Rebekah has a dipolma in Business and Marketing, Certificates 2,3 & 4 in Finance and is completing the Dipolma in Financial Planning. Rebekah is fully accredited with industry bodies including MFAA, COSL, AFG and credit registered.

Rebekah is also 'Justice of the Peace' Qualified.

Josie commenced with SMS Finance April 2008 taking over the  role of documents & settlements clerk, along with general office duties. Josie came to us with a degree in International Business & Management with the University of the Sunshine Coast.
