John McNamara

John has 28 years experience in the Banking/Finance industry. John commenced his finance career in 1981 with CBFC/CBA, during that time he enjoyed several postings which include; Manager Broker Finance, Manager CBFC Fleet Lease & Manager CBFC Floor Plan Section. In 1994 he accepted the position as Sunshine Coast Area Manager, then eventually accepting the position of Relationship Executive to manage larger portfolio clients. In 2001 John resigned to take the opportunity to join forces with David Stone (Stone Goddard & Associates) forming Stone McNamara Finance, which was eventually changed to SMS Finance. In July 2008 John took over the reigns of 100% ownership in the company allowing David to slow down a bit into a semi-retired/consultancy role. John has expertise in all areas of Mortgage & Equipment Finance. John is a well respected member of the community.

David Stone

David has 43 years experience in the finance industry, commencing in 1966 with Lombard Australia (Natwest Bank) during this time David gained experience in most divisions of the finance industry. The last position held was branch manager for 8 years before branching out on his own forming Stone Goddard & Associates in January 1982. In 2001 David joined forces with John McNamara to form Stone McNamara Finance eventually changing to SMS Finance. In July 2008 David handed over the reins of the business solely to John, electing to slow down a little and taking on a consultancy role. David has expertise all areas of Equipment Finance spending a lot of his time in Central & Western Queensland. David is a well respected member of the community.

Lisa Martin

Lisa commenced with Stone Goddard & Associates in February 2000 as David’s assistant. Lisa’s experience in the finance industry started at the age of 16 in 1977 with the Commonwealth Bank. In her time there she gained experience in all areas of branch work including loans.
For the past 9 years Lisa has mastered all areas of Equipment Finance lending under David’s guidance.
Now due to David’s semi-retirement, Lisa has stepped up to the plate looking after David’s clients as well as her own clients which she has gathered over the past 9 years. Lisa handles all areas of Equipment Finance.

Garry Fritz

Garry commenced with SMS Finance April 2008. Garry previously worked for the Commonwealth Bank and held various lending positions for over 30 years. He has extensive experience in Business and Rural Lending having held positions in Country Queensland and The Business Banking Department of the CBA. Garry handles Mortgage & Equipment Finance with us.

Wendy Ashfield

Wendy commenced with SMS Finance in February 2006. Wendy came to us after previously working for 11 years with CBFC, the Commonwealth Bank’s Equipment Finance Division. Wendy works as John McNamara’s assistant handling Mortgage applications and processing along with Equipment Finance applications.

Chris Moore

Chris has been with SMS Finance for just over 4 years, commencing December 6th 2004. For the first 2 years Chris processed documents and handled settlements under the guidance of Lisa. Since 2006 Chris has been the documents/settlements manager along with handling general office duties. In 2008 Chris handed over his role to Josie taking up the position of Direct Sales Manager under the guidance of John McNamara. Chris handles Mortgages and Equipment Finance.

Judy Gleeson

Judy commenced with SMS Finance August 2007 as Marketing Manager. Judy comes to us with over 30 years experience in all facets of owning and running various small to medium businesses. Judy looks after all our marketing requirements along with general office duties.

Josie Freese

Josie commenced with SMS Finance April 2008 taking over Chris’s role of documents & settlements clerk, along with general office duties. Josie came to us with a degree in International Business & Management with the University of the Sunshine Coast.
